After two seasons with Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull KTM, Alex Martin is moving over to Autotrader/Yoshimura Suzuki. The 28-year-old has signed a two-year contract to join JGR's 250 Class team for both supercross and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross.

The signing was announced via press release on Wednesday.

"I'm very happy to be joining the team and excited for the next two years," Martin said in a team statement. "The resources that the Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team has to offer, along with the facility at JGRMX in North Carolina, will be a huge benefit. Suzuki is coming out with a brand-new RM-Z250 for 2019, and I'm excited to get great results on the bike. I am looking forward to the next few years!"

Martin finished second overall in 250MX points this season for the second time in his career, but did so without winning any motos or overalls. (Nine different riders won motos in the 250 Class this season.) He's won two overall rounds in his outdoor career, with both victories coming in 2016.

Several of Martin's top 250 Class rivals — Aaron Plessinger, Zach Osborne, Joey Savatgy and Justin Hill — will be moving to the premier class full-time starting next season.

So far, Martin is the only rider confirmed rider for JGR's 250 roster next season. More announcements from the team are likely to follow this offseason.
