Savatgy to Miss Budds Creek for Birth of First Child
Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Joey Savatgy announced on social media that he'll miss this Saturday's action at the GEICO Motorcycle Budds Creek National. However, it's not an injury that will keep the Georgia native away from the track. Savatgy and his wife, Megan, are expecting the birth of their first child this weekend. The longtime partners married this past November.
After a slow start to his rookie 450 Class campaign, in which he missed the first two rounds with injury and experienced up and down results littered with misfortune, Savatgy has hit his stride in the late stages of the summer. He's finished in sixth place for four consecutive motos, which has resulted in back-to-back season-best results of seventh overall. Savatgy currently sits 12th in the 450 Class standings.

Well it’s a tough decision but due to the fact that my child is expected this weekend, I’ve made the decision to stay home. I love racing and I’ve been making forward progress lately, but my family comes first and I hope you guys understand. So for those on #team17 I appreciate the support. We aren’t done yet either ????????
