Florida's heat and humidity provided some of the toughest conditions of the 2020 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship as the world's fastest riders returned to Jacksonville's WW Motocross Park for the seventh round of the season. With the highest temperatures that riders have faced all season the path to victory at the GEICO Motorcycle WW Ranch National was going to require good starts, which would allow the front runners to tactfully get the most out of their physical and mental energy.

Eventual winners Zach Osborne and Dylan Ferrandis were both able to capitalize on their strong starts in each respective moto, where Osborne parlayed the MotoSport.com Holeshot in Moto 1 and a top-five start in Moto 2 to achieve a 1-1 sweep aboard his Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing machine in the 450 Class. Similarly, Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing's Dylan Ferrandis took advantage of a pair of top-three starts to storm to his second straight 1-1 sweep in the 250 Class.
