Fox Raceway National Qualifying - Pro Motocross Championship

The ninth and final round of the 2020 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is underway from Southern California's Fox Raceway. A pair of champions will be crowned at the end of the MX vs ATV All Out Fox Raceway National, but first on deck was the final practice an qualifying session of the year.

In the 450 Class it was Team Honda HRC's Chase Sexton who topped the time sheets with a lap of 1:53.683 in the final session, hoping to potentially end his first season of premier class competition with a victory. The rookie, adorned in a Michael Jordan inspired set of gear that mimics the jersey of the NBA's Chicago Bulls, was able to beat out his training partner and fellow class rookie Adam Cianciarulo (1:54.025) for the top spot, giving Sexton a jolt of momentum heading into the final set of motos. Championship point leader Zach Osborne ended up fifth as he looks to clinch his first 450 Class title.

Fresh off earning his firs win of the season one week ago, Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing's Justin Cooper kept the ball rolling into Fox Raceway with his second straight fastest qualifier. The New York native laid down a blistering lap of 1:54.381 on his final circuit around the track in the second session, beating out teammate and championship point leader Dylan Ferrandis by a full second (1:55.302). While Cooper will look to end the year with back-to-back wins, Ferrandis will look to capitalize on his strong start to the day and bring home his first career national championship.
