2021 Thunder Valley National Qualifying - Pro Motocross Championship

Morning action from the second round of the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship has set the tone for what looks to be another exciting afternoon of racing at the Toyota Thunder Valley National. Practice and qualifying has wrapped up, with a pair of familiar names atop the time sheets.

Fresh off a stellar performance at the opening round one week ago, Team Honda HRC's Ken Roczen kept the momentum rolling by pacing the 450 Class field in qualifying. The former series champion posted a time of 2:05.667 in the first morning session, which held up to give him first gate pick entering Moto 1. Monster Energy Kawasaki's Adam Cianciarulo followed in second (2:06.755) with his teammate, and defending Thunder Valley winner, Eli Tomac in third (2:07.095).

Over in the 250 Class, Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing's Justin Cooper once again showed his affinity for Thunder Valley by leading the way in qualifying. The defending event winner posted the second-fastest lap across all competitors, in either class, with a time of 2:05.899, just a couple tenths off Roczen's 450 Class mark. Cooper paced a top-three sweep for Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing in qualifying, with Jeremy Martin in second (2:07.292) and Nate Thrasher in third (2:07.376).
