in 2021 for Riders in Need

MX Sports Pro Racing has announced its continued partnership with the Road 2 Recovery Foundation (R2R) as the “Official Charity of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.” To kick off another season of this ongoing association fans are encouraged to embrace the giving spirit of Valentine’s Day and share the love of moto with a donation to R2R’s enduring effort to raise funds for riders, and other members of the industry, in need. Ticket purchasers to all rounds of the 2022 season can do so easily with a roundup donation in the monetary value of one’s choice in support of Road 2 Recovery.

“The partnership between Road 2 Recovery and the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is arguably the most important in all of American motocross,” said Roy Janson, Managing Director at MX Sports Pro Racing. “Our athletes are the backbone of the sport and it is imperative that we do what we can to support them in their most critical time of need. No rider should face so much uncertainty nor extreme challenges beyond their focused effort of recovery, which is why an organization like R2R is so crucial to the motocross community.”

Over the course of the 2021 season fundraising efforts by R2R at rounds of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, via event ticket sales, and through community outreach efforts like auctions and contests, resulted in a total of $39,321 in money raised by the sport’s dedicated and loyal fans to support the recovery process of riders. That brings the running three-year total of philanthropic initiatives between R2R and Pro Motocross to more than $100,000, with 100% of those funds going directly towards various athlete-focused recovery support efforts.

“The 2021 season brought our most successful fundraising year to date in partnership with the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship,” said Lori Armistead, Road 2 Recovery Foundation. “The incredible, selfless support of the motocross fanbase continues to grow and we’re so grateful for their willingness to give to those who need our help the most during some of the most challenging times of their lives.”

Donations to Road 2 Recovery can be made directly through the organization’s website as a generic contribution or through one of the many ongoing causes currently being operated for an athlete in need.
