The 50th Anniversary of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is underway as practice and qualifying has wrapped up at the Honda Fox Raceway I National in Southern California. A deep field of talent chased the top time across two sessions in both the 450 Class and 250 Class, and were met with perfect weather conditions under mostly cloudy skies.

In the 450 Class, Team Honda HRC's Chase Sexton topped the time sheets in both sessions, with his 2:12.333 in the first session leading the way. Teammate Ken Roczen followed in second (2:13.120) while Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing's Eli Tomac followed in third (2:13.831).

In the 250 Class, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Seth Hammaker was similarly dominant and posted the fastest time of both sessions. The sophomore rider's time from the first session was the best in the division and resulted in his first career top qualifier accolade with a time of 2:13.063, which proved to be the fastest lap of the whole event. Team Honda HRC's Hunter Lawrence was just three tenths back (2:13.380) in second, with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's RJ Hampshire just a half second off the pace in third (2:13.599).
