Wednesday, June 22, 2022 | 5:00 PM
Over the span of almost five decades, Southern California's FMF Racing has become synonymous with the sport of motocross, developing the finest motorcycle exhausts available in the marketplace. Over the course of its longstanding partnership with the world's most prestigious off-road motorcycle racing series, FMF has remained committed to its support of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship by bringing much-needed and well-deserved attention to the underdog racers who fight tooth and nail each weekend as privateers, keeping the dream alive through any means necessary. As a result, the FMF Privateer Power Award has become an embodiment of what the brand stands for and what these lesser-known racers epitomize every time the gate drops.
After every round of the 2022 season, FMF and the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will recognize a rider deserving of acknowledgement and celebration for his efforts on the track. Each selected rider will be praised for his ability to defy the odds and capture head-turning results, showing no intimidation as he battles alongside some of the sport's biggest names in an incredibly deep field of world class talent featuring riders from across the globe.
Each recipient of the FMF Privateer Power Award will be given special recognition as part of the riders meeting at the following national and is awarded with a custom-designed trophy.
After a slow start to the 2022 season Justin Rodbell is starting to find his groove. One week after he secured a season-best result, the Maryland native duplicated the effort with his second straight 16th-place finish. What proved to be most impressive about Rodbell's effort at the Lucas Oil Stabilizer High Point National was his ability to improve upon his starting position in both 450 Class motos. He settled into 17th to begin Moto 1 and picked up three spots to finish solidly in the points in 14th. In the ensuing moto he had his work cut out for him with a start outside the top 20, but Rodbell showed patience on the rough and rutted track and methodically worked his way into the points to finish in 18th. He wrapped up the afternoon with 14-18 moto scores, which was good enough for 16th overall and FMF Privateer Power Award honors at High Point.
