Veteran racer Shane McElrath has confirmed on social media that his role as a fill-in rider for Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing has come to an end. In his first summer of 450 Class competition McElrath earned four top-10 finishes in eight rounds, with a season-best result of eighth at the Thunder Valley National in June. He also showed prowess out the starting gate with several starts near the front of the field.

McElrath earned the INTENSE RC HARD CHARGER AWARD in his final start with Husqvarna at Washougal. He passed 16 riders in Moto 1, climbing from 30th to 14th.

The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team will welcome the anticipated return of both Malcolm Stewart and Dean Wilson to its 450 Class stable for the remainder of the season, as both riders will make their 2022 summer debuts at the Unadilla National on August 13.
