2022 Budds Creek Qualifying - Pro Motocross Championship

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship has made its annual visit to the shadow of the nation's capital for Round 10 of the 50th anniversary season as Southern Maryland's famed Budds Creek Motocross Park hosts the GEICO Motorcycle Budds Creek National. Morning Fast Lap Qualifying kicked off the action on the track, from which a pair of Honda riders emerged as the standard bearers for pace heading into the motos.

An already impressive title defense for 250 Class Champion Jett Lawrence saw the Australian grab a little more momentum as he put his Team Honda HRC machine atop the time sheets with a lap of 1:56.809 in the second session. He edged out Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing's Justin Cooper by nearly half a second (1:57.283), while Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Jo Shimoda ended up third (1:57.595).

In the 450 Class, fellow Team Honda HRC rider Ken Roczen once again put himself in a familiar spot atop the classification with an impressive lap of 1:55.834 that made him the only rider to post a sub-1:56 lap time. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Antonio Cairoli posted a season-best effort in his return to the U.S. in second (1:56.441), while Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing's Eli Tomac was third (1:56.586).
