Newly crowned 250SX Rookie of the Year suffered a broken arm in a frightening practice crash at the Supercross finale.
On the day in which he was named the AMA 250SX Rookie of the Year, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing's New Zealand sensation was involved in a frightening crash with Triumph Factory Racing's Jordon Smith during the first qualifying session at the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Finals from Salt Lake City. After slowing on the track, Davies inadvertently moved in front of Smith, who was mid-air, which resulted in the Triumph rider landing on his Yamaha counterpart.
Both riders ultimately missed out on racing at the final round, with Smith deciding to rest after an initial attempt to ride through the pain. Davies, meanwhile, provided an update on his condition on Instagram from his hospital bed, revealing a broken arm and broken nose. As a result, his debut in the Pro Motocross Championship has been put on hold for the foreseeable future.
