Dylan Ferrandis Announces Shock Retirement from Racing
The two-time Pro Motocross Champion from France will step away from the sport following the SMX World Championship Final in Missouri.
In a shocking and unexpected post on social media, 32-year-old Frenchman Dylan Ferrandis announced his retirement from racing following the conclusion of the SMX World Championship Final in Missouri.
The veteran racer is a two-time Pro Motocross Champion, having captured the 250cc title in 2020, which he followed up with the premier 450cc crown in 2021 as a rookie. Additionally, Ferrandis earned back-to-back 250SX West Region titles in Supercross in 2019 & 2020. Those four titles, combined with 21 total victories in SMX competition, make him one of the most decorated French born racers in the history of the sport.
Prior to his overseas move, Ferrandis was a staple of the MX2 division in MXGP. However, it wasn't until he came to the states that his potential was realized, allowing Ferrandis to become one of the sport's elite competitors and an all-time great. He's currently completing the debut season for Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing alongside fellow veteran Justin Barcia.
