2021 Unadilla National Qualifying - Pro Motocross Championship

Action is underway at the Circle K Unadilla National, as the stars of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship make their anticipated return to the track following the final break in action for the 2021 season. Overnight rain has provided ideal track conditions for today's battle for victory, with a rough and rutty layout that has already challenged riders in morning practice and qualifying. A pair of familiar names positioned themselves atop the running order at the conclusion of the timed sessions, with Team Honda HRC's Ken Roczen pacing the 450 Class and Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing's Justin Cooper leading the way in the 250 Class.

Roczen was the last rider to win the Unadilla National in 2019 and is looking get back on the winning track in the 450 Class title fight. His time of 2:21.338 put him more than a half-second ahead of Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing's Aaron Plessinger in second (2:21.977), with his Team Honda HRC teammate Chase Sexton in third (2:22.492).

Cooper, the 250 Class points leader, has been the rider to beat in qualifying all season. His time of 2:21.980 put him atop the charts for the sixth time this season and sat well clear of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's RJ Hampshire in second (2:23.233), while Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Seth Hammaker got his return to action off to a strong start in third (2:23.978).
