The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship's final stretch of the season is officially underway, and qualifying has wrapped up for the Circle K Unadilla National. Overnight rain brought riders slightly damp conditions to start the morning, but that didn't last long as the sun began to shine over the legendary Unadilla MX track.

The 450 Class saw the technical, rutty conditions that Unadilla has become known for play in the favor of Team Honda HRC's Ken Roczen. The German set a blistering lap in the second and final session, logging a lap time of 2:11.482, which was nearly 3.2 seconds quicker than his nearest competitor Cooper Webb of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. Defending champion Eli Tomac was sixth quickest aboard his Monster Energy Kawasaki, more than four seconds behind Roczen's best lap.

In the 250 Class, the final session proved to be the deciding factor for who would end with the fastest lap time of the morning. When the checkered flag waved, it was Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Adam Cianciarulo emerging atop the time sheets with a lap of 2:14.629 that he recorded towards the end of the session. Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing's Justin Cooper set the pace early and ended up turning the second fastest time, just 0.8 seconds off of Cianciarulo. It marks the second time this season that Cianciarulo has set the fastest qualifying time.
