WHAT IS PRO MOTOCROSS?

The Pro Motocross Championship is the world’s premier motocross racing series. As the exclusive professional motocross program in the U.S. sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing (American Motorcyclist Association), the series features the world’s fastest racers competing on the most renowned racetracks in the country.

HOW LONG IS AN PRO MOTOCROSS SEASON?

The championship consists of 11 rounds, beginning in May in California before embarking on a summer-long journey that features visits to Colorado, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Washington, New York, Maryland, and Indiana before the season’s conclusion.

WHAT TYPE OF CLASSES DOES PRO MOTOCROSS RACE?

Professional competition is divided into two classes: the 250 Class for 150-250cc motorcycles and the premier 450 Class for 251-450cc motorcycles.

WHAT IS THE RACE FORMAT OF PRO MOTOCROSS?

The race format for each class consists of two 30-minute-plus-two-laps races called “motos,” with the points earned from the results of each moto combined to determine an overall winner and finishing order. Points are accrued at each event throughout the season, and the rider who possesses the highest total in each class after the final event will be crowned champion.

WHAT TYPE OF FACILITY DOES PRO MOTOCROSS RACE AT?

Professional motocross competitions are conducted on natural terrain dirt courses that feature a variety of obstacles, which include a unique blend of challenging jumps, steep uphills and downhills, bermed corners, fast straightaways, and more. Motocross is recognized as one of the most physically demanding sports in the world, as well as the original extreme action sport.

HOW LONG HAS MX SPORTS PRO RACING MANAGED PRO MOTOCROSS?

Since 2009, the championship has been under the management of MX Sports Pro Racing, a professional race organization based in West Virginia. Under the stewardship of MX Sports Pro Racing, the series has experienced phenomenal growth and popularity, not only in television viewership, but also live audience and social media as well.
