FMF Privateer Power Award: Thunder Valley National

Wednesday, October 7, 2020 | 12:00 PM

As a longtime partner of the sport's most prestigious championship legendary exhaust manufacturer FMF Racing has sought to leverage its support of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship by shining the spotlight on well-deserving racers who epitomize the Southern California brand's core values. For more than 45 years FMF has never wavered in its commitment to put all resources into its products, and the FMF Privateer Power Award embodies that spirit, becoming a beloved recognition for the underdog riders who serve as the lifeblood of American motocross.

Each week, FMF and the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will recognize the rider that deserves to be celebrated for his efforts at each and every stop of the nine-round 2020 season. Each selected rider will be recognized for his ability to overcome the odds in pursuit of his racing dream, and the unwavering determination to go bar-to-bar alongside the most talented racers on the planet.

Each recipient of the FMF Privateer Power Award is recognized during the riders meeting at the following national and is awarded with a custom-designed trophy.

For the second time during the 2020 season, Missouri rider Benny Bloss is the recipient of the FMF Privateer Power Award following an impressive performance at the WPS/FLY Racing Thunder Valley National. It was the best outing of the season for the KT Tape/Truck Central/Donnells Husqvarna rider, who outperformed many of his fellow factory supported counterparts to earn his first top-10 finish of the year in eighth following 14-7 moto scores, earning the best overall finish for any privateer thus far in 2020. Despite having to endure through the ups and downs of running his own effort this season, Bloss and his team appear to be hitting their stride at the most opportune time, and his head-turning result in the mile-high elevation of Thunder Valley warranted additional recognition. The former 450 Class Rookie of the Year will look to end the season on a high note at the 2020 finale from Fox Raceway.
