The motocross community lost one of its most devoted, passionate, and impactful members with the tragic passing of Bill Dill, on February 19, following a long cancer battle. A former racer, Dill became a legend of the racing community through his Southeastern Massachusetts-based 3D Racing effort. He loved being at the races and being a part of American motocross, but most importantly he had an unwavering desire to provide opportunities for young racers to pursue their dreams of professional motocross, starting at the amateur level and through to the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship and AMA Supercross.

For more than 20 years, 3D Racing provided a home to privateers to contest the world's premier off-road motorcycle racing championships, including many aspiring and talented racers from his native region of New England. From the likes of Keith Johnson and Kelly Smith to others like Jason Thomas, Dill played an invaluable role in the careers of dozens of riders.

He never wavered in his commitment to 3D Racing and its riders, all the way to the end. The team's legacy will continue on in 2022 with North Carolina's Devin Simonson, who began his season this past weekend in Minneapolis. Despite not being able to attend, Dill watched on. He passed surrounded by family and friends, remaining a part of the sport he loved and dedicated his life to.
