STACYC Stability Cycle Becomes Partner for
50th Anniversary Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship
“Official Stability Cycle” Creating the Next Generation of Riders Through Engagement with Passionate American Motocross Fan Base During 2022 Season
MX Sports Pro Racing has announced the newest partner of the world’s most prestigious off-road motorcycle racing series ahead of the 50th anniversary season as STACYC Stability Cycle becomes the “Official Stability Cycle” of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. Through its role, STACYC will further strengthen its engagement with the fans and enthusiasts of the sport, fostering the next generation of riders through demo activations of its stability cycles at select Nationals, in addition to its #STACYCLIVE22 CONTEST that will be showcased during series broadcasts, with a VIP trip to the 2022 season finale for one lucky family.
“In the handful of years its innovative products have been available to consumers, STACYC has made a significant impact on the motorcycle industry, establishing a path for youth to begin riding at an even younger age,” said Davey Coombs, President, MX Sports Pro Racing. “Moreover, their stability cycles allow new riders to gain confidence through natural progression, doing so at their own pace, which will only serve to benefit them as they gain more experience. Their presence at Pro Motocross events will add even more to the family atmosphere of this championship.”
STACYC was founded in Southern California in 2018, introducing an innovative entry-level option to the motorcycle industry for kids to begin their two-wheel journey. The battery powered stability cycles can be introduced as a balance bike, allowing first-time riders to find their own comfort aboard two wheels before making the transition to a powered option, which features a true twist-throttle design that teaches kids how to operate the throttle and manage power output. Originally consisting of the 12eDRIVE model for the youngest of riders and 16eDRIVE model for riders with a little more size and experience, STACYC’s immediate success and impact on the industry led to the brand’s acquisition by Harley-Davidson and has now resulted in the introduction of two new models to facilitate the continued progression of youth riders - the 18eDRIVE and 20eDRIVE.
“Creating the next generation of riders is our mission and we’re fortunate to have an opportunity to connect with new families and riders daily,” said Matt Schumann, Vice President Marketing, STACYC, Inc. “Through our partnership with the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship and event support at four Nationals this summer we’ll establish connections, both new and ongoing, with kids across the country, facilitating the growth of the industry. Sharing the love of riding is our goal, from bringing new families into racing or creating opportunities for families new to two wheels.”
Demo activations featuring free riding opportunities of all four STACYC models will be available to kids ages 3-12 attending California’s Honda Fox Raceway I National (May 28) and Carson City Motorsports Hangtown Motocross Classic (June 4), in addition to Indiana’s Ironman National (August 27) and the season-ending Fox Raceway II National(September 3) in California.
For viewers watching the action live from the comfort of home, on both MAVTV Motorsports Network and NBC TV Network, the #STACYCLIVE22 CONTEST will feature weekly fan submissions during broadcasts of the races, showcasing little rippers between three and 12 years of age riding at home, the park, or the local track. One submission will be selected for a “Grand Prize” VIP experience at the final round of the 2022 season from Fox Raceway, including tickets, travel, and lodging. Visit www.STACYC.com for entry rules and details.
STACYC event support is nationwide, providing chances for young riders to race their stability cycles at events across the country. Interested parties can use the STACYC Event Locator on the brand’s website to find the event closest to them.
The 50th Anniversary of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will be bookended by the holiday weekends that serve as the proverbial starting point and finishing point of the summer, with the season-opening round over Memorial Day Weekend on May 28 and the season finale over Labor Day Weekend on September 3. The 12-round season will visit 10 different states, visiting iconic venues with decades of history like the Hangtown Classic(June 4), High Point Raceway (June 18), RedBud MX (July 2), The Wick 338 (July 9), Spring Creek MX Park (July 16), Washougal MX Park (July 23), Unadilla MX (August 13), and Budds Creek Motocross Park (August 20), as well as additional world-class venues in FoxRaceway (May 28 & September 3), Thunder Valley Motocross Park (June 11), and Ironman Raceway (August 27).
